Burke Long has produced and recorded his the usual mastering on guitar with addition of great musicians from around the country. There is a new sound though; a haunting reminder of the 60s and 70s. A wonderful "Happy Together" rendition is the first addition of a cover song included with Long's originals which sets the mood of the eras; yet is shadowed by originals such as "Over the Stars", "Over Time", "Desert Lights" and "You Walked Away". This album ranges from the smoothness of "The Pines" with a laid back southern melody to a rocking bluesy "Small Town Blues".

A tale of southern living loving, freedom and hometown roots.

Burke Long is a North Carolina guitarist, singer -songwriter and producer . Burke writes ,performs and records music of the American South with an authenticity that comes from years of road and studio work in various combos and solo efforts. Growing up in the small town of Candor NC, Burke heard lots of Southern music including blue grass, country and early rock. Influences include Springsteen,Tom Petty, Buddy Holly and classic country acts such as Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings. Through the years Burke has open shows for various national acts including, Patty Loveless, Hootie and the Blowfish, The Jayhawks, Tommy Shaw and many others. Long currently tours with regional favorite Melonbelly and performs solo shows

Burke's new album Silver Queen is now available and features 13 originals. Much of the new record was influenced by memories of life in the small farming town of Candor located in the Sandhills of NC. The record showcases Long's strong southern vocals and roots guitar playing. Production leans towards a vintage sound, showing a love of classic pop as well as roots rock and classic country. Burke produced the record at his studio DB recording in North Carolina with additional tracking of drums and pedal steel done in Colorado. Many of the songs were written during the winter of o7 and inspired the cold weather lyrical themes. Holidays, an ode to making in through the most wonderful time of the year, is a roots rocker that would make Chuck Berry proud. Cold Winter Moon puts you out driving on an empty country highway , and the haunting harmonica and baritone Johnny Cash guitar leave no doubt it’s a lonely ride.
