Burke Long - ARTIST/PRODUCER
As a North Carolina guitarist, singer/songwriter and producer; Burke writes, performs and records music of the American South with an authenticity that comes from years of road and studio work within various combos and solo efforts. Growing up in the small town of Candor NC Burke heard a lot of southern music including blue grass, country and early rock. Influences include Springsteen, Petty, Buddy Holly and classic country acts such as Johnny Cash and Waylon Jennings. Through the years Burke has been the opening act for various nationally known performers such as Patty Loveless, Hootie and the Blowfish, The Jayhawks, Tommy Shaw and many others. Burke currently tours with regional favorite Melonbelly as well as performing solo shows.
Studio production work is done out of Burke's studio DB Recording originated in Concord, NC and now located near Pinehurst. NC. Burke loves working with singer songwriters and has a team of world class musicians from around the country available for live drums, keys, pedal and fiddle.
Burke's new original album "Silver Queen" is now available featuring 13 songs. Much of the new record was influenced by memories of life in the small farming town of Candor located in the Sandhills of NC. The record showcases Long's strong southern vocals and roots guitar playing. Production leans towards a vintage sound, showing a love of classic pop as well as roots rock and classic country.
